The Airtorch™ is used for several modern direct heating configurations (see typical application pages in Airtorch™ Handbook available free from MHI). Airtorches™ are also used for augmenting or heating existing ovens and furnaces. They offer high flexibility and control of any heating process.
Input of air or gas may be from a compressor, blower or fan (depending on the model). MHI offers several categories of Airtorches™ such as LTA's (generally 900°C and below), AT models up to nearly 1200°C and Plasma/Ultra-Torch™ models up to nearly 1500°C. Several MHI Airtorch™ models accept high temperature feed gas input.
LTA's accept line voltage. Some Airtorches™ may require feedback controls which are easily available from MHI.
The kW required depends on the temperature of the exit gas from the Airtorches™ and the flow volume required. Please see formula to calculate. Please obtain flow rate vs. temperature graphs for individual Airtorches™ from MHI.
Airtorches™ and LTA's may be purchased with several exit configurations which are generally shown on the specific web or catalog page. In addition further customization is also possible.
