AICHELIN received first order by voestalpine Stamptec.
Although the ink of the signature underneath the license treaty signed in December 2013 has only just dried, the CEOs of the two cooperation partners Aichelin Ges.m.b.H., Mödling, Austria, and BSN Thermoprozesstechnik, Simmerath, Germany, are already in a position to report the first order. “We have been able to convince our customer voestalpine Stamptec in no time of our innovative and patented step-conveying technology for the special press hardening of components for the automotive industry“, announces Dr. Thomas Dopler, CEO of Aichelin, with great pleasure.
The delivery and performance portfolio, which has already been contractually fixed, comprises design, engineering, manufacturing, delivery and putting into operation of a turnkey two-track high temperature furnace plant combined with presses of a renowned German company.
Such an acceleration is also the goal of the process concept developed by AICHELIN and BSN, which enables the components to be heated to the right temperature and then to be conveyed into the press in no time in order to comply with the highly challenging cycle times required by the customer with the usual AICHELIN reliability.
At the required austenitising temperature of 880°C, short cycle times of 13 seconds (26 seconds per furnace track) can be achieved, which in combination with the press complementing the furnace enables an output of up to 1100 parts per hour (in quadruple production), naturally depending on the thickness of the blanks to be heat-treated.
Furthermore, the procedure is characterized by
